More heart-attack drugs
Posted: Thu Dec 23, 2004 5:12 pm
This is getting silly... I just saw that the FDA has issued a statement urging people to limit use of Celebrex and Bextra, because evidence shows they increase the risk of heart attack and stroke. That's the third FDA-approved drug
this week
to be linked to increased heart attack risk. Why do I get the feeling that they're not doing such a great job screening these things before they're approved? It's all the more ironic, given that the reason most often given for why drugs can't be imported legally is that they're not FDA approved, and therefore not "safe". Ha.
