Lance Armstrong interview on All Things Considered Posted: Mon Jan 10, 2005 6:02 pm

I cought the end of an interview with Lance Armstrong on All Things Considered this afternoon. Good stuff-- he was more well spoken than I would have thought, and the interview definitely increased my respect for him. He talked for a good bit about the doping allegations that have followed him, and I thought he did an excellent job of answering them, certainly going well beyond a simple "I didn't do it." He mentioned how there's really no way he can conclusively prove he's not taking some top-secret undetectable drug either, but his frank evaluation of the situation convinced me. He also talked about how the Live Strong bracelets have become a fashion fad (30 million sold!), and predicted that the fade would soon fade, but the bracelets would still be popular among those for whom it really meant something. All-in-all, I thought it was a great glimpse into Lance's mind.
