Garmin Forerunner 301 Posted: Tue Dec 07, 2004 11:25 am

There are some rumors spinning about a new product coming soon from Garmin: the Forerunner 301. Supposedly it will have a heart rate monitor built in, eliminating one of the few weak points of the Forerunner vs. competing products.

If only they could make it not look so geeky...

It's not so bad. It's actually smaller than it seems from the photos-- about the size of two standard sports watches, maybe. It's definitely much less geeky than the Fitsense FS-1, which looks like you've got a Star Trek command console strapped to your arm.

Hey, Iresemble that remark. The fs-1 doesn't look so bad. It just doesn't work in the snow. Or maybe I was running
3 min. miles...Yeah that's the ticket, 3 min miles in the woods, uphill, in two feet of snow, yeah.
