Garmin Introduces Forerunner 205 And 305
Submitted by Rickshaw :: Sat Jan 14, 2006 5:48 pm
GPS-maker Garmin introduced two new runner-friendly models at this month's CES expo, the Forerunner 205 and 305. The new models use the same GPS technology employed by earlier versions to measure distance and speed on the fly, but feature a totally redesigned look. The antenna has been redesigned so that it wraps around the wrist, and connects to a new SiRFstar III chip architecture with higher signal gain sensitivity. These changes should help eliminate signal loss problems among tall trees and buildings that sometimes affected previous Forerunner models. The 205 will sell for $249. The 305, which includes a heart monitor, will go for $349. Both will be available starting in February.
