 Book: Running In The Zone
Submitted by Rickshaw :: Thu Jan 19, 2006 4:49 pm
Older runners (or those who plan to be older someday!) will enjoy Running in the Zone: A Handbook for Seasoned Athletes. If finishing a marathon in 2:47 is hard to imagine, how about doing it at 64? That's the story of one of the book's twenty-six contributors, who range in age from 46 to 76. These seasoned runners discuss their motivations and experiences, which include world-level performances at the Olympics, Commonwealth, and European games as well as personal achievements from the mid-pack crowd. Some of these athletes didn't start running until they were over 40 and some didn't achieve their best performances until they were in their fifties. 40- and 50-somethings considering starting running or any reader who enjoys inspiring running themes may want to give this book a look.
