Art For Runners

If you're looking for a gift for the runner in your life, consider high-quality running-related artwork. Several art stores specialize in running-related prints and posters, and many others have large selections of art with a running theme. Runner Art offers a good variety of "digital watercolor" prints of runners in picturesque outdoor settings, and a framed and matted 19x13 print is just $70. Online poster suppliers such as AllPosters.com carry everything from prints of Prefontaine and Billy Mills to the New York Marathon. Well-known coach Hal Higdon is also an artist, and offers several of his own running-themed works for sale. Finally, for something a little different, check out Phil Dynan's outstanding collection of colorful race illustrations. Dynan created the official artwork used on shirts and promotional materials for many major marathons and other races, including the San Francisco Marathon. You can also order free postcard-sized samples of his art through the web site.
