Runner's World forums slowness Posted: Wed Dec 15, 2004 11:13 am

Does anyone else read the Runner's World forums, and find them incredibly slow? Whenever I click anything on their site, it takes an annoyingly long time for the new page to load. Just browsing through a dozen postings or so takes forever. Do I have a flaky connection, or have other people noticed the same thing?

i have the same problem. it's actually one of the reasons i visit this more often now. plus i've tended to like the discussion topics here better. rw is too innundated with the mileage game and race reports and the daily, not to mention that one on there lately about how 'some of you should be very concerned'. i would love this to get a few more forumites to keep a more regular stream of discussion going...

I'm glad to hear that. You could invite some more people from the RW forums here to join you. I'd do it myself, but I already posted an announcement there once, and I don't want to annoy everyone with more spam.

If this forum is more responsive than RW, it's funny. Runworks is hosted on a shared server at some generic hosting service, and there are something like 100 other web sites running on the same machine. Yet except for occasional hiccups, it normally seems pretty responsive.
