I'm teamed up!

I'm on a running team! After checking out several different local groups, I finally joined the West Valley Joggers and Striders. It's a team of mostly masters and seniors runners, with only a few relative "youngsters" like me, but that's no issue. I really like the people in the group, and I'm a little slower than their average runner, so I have lots of motivation to improve.

I also had to join the USA Track and Field association, which gets me some kind of benefits I'm not clear about. The main thing is that if you want to officially compete in a major (or not so major) race, you need to be a USATF member, or you won't be in contention for prizes.

Memorial Day will be my first official race as a WVJS member. It's a 10K that's part of the Pacific Association USATF competitive circuit, so if I do well, I have a chance to score points for my team. I've got my team singlet ready to go. Now all I have to do is run a good race...
