FINALLY!
Posted: Thu Apr 26, 2007 9:38 pm
I'm back on track with running: I'm still incorporating cycling as cross training, at the behest of my physical therapist, but last week, I ran my first 30 + miles week since prior to the 50 miler in January (IT injury). I'm using the nasty foam roller to massage the ol' IT and have had zero issues. Mixing in the cycling to replace 1 short run/week is really gonna help, I think.
It's great to be back on track! I'm base-building now for my October 100 miler. How's everyone else's training going? Any races coming up? I have a 14 mile trail race May 14th, my first race since January.

I have a 10K trail race tomorrow (Sun.) "The Bimbler's Bash". How can you not love that name. Since it's rained for a part of each of the last 3 days it should be a real mudfest. WHEEEE!!!

I finished 35 out of 110, not bad for me. The mud was outstanding and I passed many people by running right through it instead of tip-toeing around. Sorry for the splashing but hey, it's a race. Really well organized too especially for a first time effort. Pics and results are at

None up of me yet, but I was wearing #25 and if there's a shot of a bloody right knee that's mine.

Wow, great job! Clumps of mud AND a bloody knee?
You are living large - I'm envious!

Congratulations Bill! Sounds like a great race. Splashing through the mud... I'm envious. Got any more races on your calendar?

Maybe 5/20 the Cockaponsett Trail 8m run. I still need the info on it (the app is in the mail) from the RD. Other than that probably nothing until fall.
