Before I started running at age 42....and after 42 years as a couch potato....my resting heart rate (RHR) was 70-75.
After just a couple of years of running, it dropped into the 40's at age 44.

I live in Maryland near the Chesapeake Bay where snow and ice isn't as much of a problem as it is in Michigan or upstate New York. It's easy enough to simply go indoors to a treadmill or indoor track ... |
