weather and gear
Posted: Fri Jan 14, 2005 7:56 am
So this has been one of those weeks that justifies all the money I've spent on different running gear. Here in Chicago the weather has been interesting lately to say the least. Wednesday it was 60 degrees and raining, Thursday was 30 degrees and snowing, and now Friday it's below zero. I'm sure using the full spectrum of my running apparel this week!

Your temperature extremes remind me of warnings against removing a dish from the refrigerator and putting it directly into the oven. Have you checked yourself for cracks? :-)
Good running gear is definitely nice to have. It's also pretty expensive though. Getting the chance to use it all can help with that guilty feeling that comes with the hole in your wallet. Even a basic cool-max T-shirt costs $30 or so now. With a few of those, some shorts, some shoes, and jacket, hat, water bottle, Gu, etc., you could probably spend four figures on running gear in a year's time without breaking a sweat. Ouch!
