I know there are some ultra runners in these forums. Got any advice for a beginner looking to break into the sport? Is the training for a 50K much different from a standard marathon training program? What races would you recommend for a beginner?

50k is only 5 miles more than a marathon so the difference in training is not much. Maybe another mile or two on your long runs.
