March 4 Sunday run Posted: Sun Mar 04, 2007 2:57 pm

I ran 9 miles this morning, but it was tough. I'm doing a 12K (about 7.5 miles) race in two weeks, so I want to get in at least a couple of runs as long or longer before then. Coming off of yesterday's poor 5.7 mile workout, I had to push myself to finish 9 miles today, and kept it to a very easy pace, but I did it. Afterwards I felt completely wiped out, though. Thankfully tomorrow is a rest day!

28 miles this week on 5 days of running. That's the most distance (and days) I've done since the week of September 26, when I ran my last marathon.

STILL xtraining, but I managed about 5 hours of cardio this week (bike/elliptical + 1 hour trail run). I'm slowly going insane from lack of ability to hit the trails, but patience is crucial I suppose, and I'm keeping up my fitness levels.

Hey Rustyboy, did I miss an injury story? Why all the cross-training?

My IT got angry with my finishing a 50 mile race on 4 miles of asphalt, so I've been babying it, going to the chiro, etc. I ran 7 miles last Saturday, and it tightened up something fierce, so I'm continuing to stretch and cross train, probably heading to a phys therapist soon, just to get a bit more aggressive, so I can be healed for my trip to Ireland at the end of May. That way, I can run in the land of my ancestors!
